  • 2 tbsp jerk seasoning

  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp lime juice

For the Yellow Rice:

  • 1 cup long-grain or basmati rice
  • 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tbsp butter

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the Yellow Rice:

  1. In a medium pot, combine the rice, broth, turmeric, garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  2. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is tender and fluffy.
  4. Stir in the butter and set aside, keeping warm.

2️⃣ Marinate the Steak and Shrimp:

  1. In a bowl, toss the steak pieces and shrimp with jerk seasoning, minced garlic, lime juice, and olive oil.
  2. Let marinate for 10-15 minutes.

3️⃣ Cook the Steak:

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the steak pieces and sear for 3-4 minutes per side until browned and cooked to your desired doneness.
  3. Remove the steak and set aside.

4️⃣ Cook the Shrimp:

  1. In the same skillet, add a bit more olive oil if needed.
  2. Sauté the shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.

5️⃣ Assemble the Dish:

  1. Serve the jerk steak and shrimp over a generous portion of yellow rice.
