For the Steak & Shrimp:
- 1 lb Angus steak or boneless beef tri-tip (cut into cubes )
- 1 lb large shrimp (peeled and deveined )
- 2 tsp jerk seasoning
- 1 tsp Creole seasoning
- 1 tsp salt and cracked black pepper
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
For the Vegetables:
- 1 cup red and green bell peppers (sliced )
For the Sauce:
- 1 cup chicken broth or water
For the Yellow Rice:
- 1 pack yellow rice (Recommended: Mahatma! )
For Garnish:
- Fresh parsley (chopped )
- Green onions (chopped (optional))
Instructions
1️⃣ Cook the Steak:
- Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the cubed steak and cook undisturbed for 3 minutes.
- Gently flip and continue cooking until browned on all sides, about 7-8 minutes total.
- Once done, remove the steak from the pan and set aside.
2️⃣ Season the Shrimp:
- In a bowl, season the shrimp with 2 tsp jerk seasoning and 1 tsp Creole seasoning.
- Toss until the shrimp are evenly coated.
3️⃣ Cook the Shrimp:
- In the same skillet, melt 1 tbsp butter over medium heat.
- Add the seasoned shrimp and cook for 1 minute per side.
- Drizzle with honey and cook for an additional 1 minute.
- Remove the shrimp and set aside.
4️⃣ Sauté the Bell Peppers:
- In the same pan, add the sliced red and green bell peppers.
- Cook for 3 minutes, stirring frequently, until softened and slightly charred.
5️⃣ Combine Everything:
- Return the cooked steak and shrimp to the skillet.
- Pour in 1 cup chicken broth or water and any remaining seasoning.
- Reduce the heat to medium-low and let everything simmer for 3-5 minutes to meld the flavors.
6️⃣ Prepare the Yellow Rice:
- Cook the yellow rice according to the package instructions.
7️⃣ Serve:
- Spoon the vibrant yellow rice onto a plate.
- Top with the jerk steak, shrimp, and bell peppers.
- Garnish with fresh parsley or green onions for a burst of color and flavor.
