- 1 lb steak (thinly sliced)
- 1 tsp garlic salt
- ½ tsp ground black pepper
- 1 green bell pepper (sliced)
- 1 onion (sliced)
- 8–10 slices White American cheese
- 20 oz bag McCain Quick Cook Waffle Cut Fries (or any fries of your choice)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
Preheat the Oven:
- Set your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Cook the Steak:
- Heat an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tbsp olive oil.
- Add the thinly sliced steak and season with garlic salt and black pepper.
- Cook the steak, stirring occasionally, until browned on all sides. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
Sauté the Vegetables:
- Reserve 1 tbsp of the liquid from the skillet and discard the rest.
- Return the skillet to the stove and add the sliced green bell pepper and onion.
- Sauté in the reserved liquid until the vegetables are tender but the peppers remain crisp. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Layer the Fries and Toppings:
- Remove the skillet from heat and spread a layer of McCain Quick Cook Waffle Cut Fries in the skillet.
- Place 4 slices of White American cheese over the fries.
- Add a layer of the cooked steak and vegetables.
- Repeat these layers, finishing with the remaining cheese slices on top.
Bake:
- Place the oven-safe skillet in the preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve:
